LSU has added an experienced offensive lineman through the transfer portal as the Tigers rebuild their offensive line.
Braelin Moore, an offensive lineman at Virginia Tech, revealed Saturday on social media that he would be signing with LSU. Moore, who will be a redshirt junior, has two more seasons of eligibility.
He is LSU’s 13th addition from the portal this summer, and their first offensive lineman.
Moore has started 24 consecutive games for Virginia Tech over the last two seasons, playing both guard and center. He is classified as 6-foot-3 and 303 pounds.
Moore was a three-star prospect from Freedom High in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, who played guard and defensive end.
After redshirting as a freshman, he gained a starting job in his sophomore year.
LSU needs to replace four starter offensive linemen. Junior tackles Will Campbell and Emery Jones declared for the NFL draft, while senior guards Garrett Dellinger and Miles Frazier used up their eligibility. The sole returning starter is redshirt freshman DJ Chester, who struggled as a first-year center.
LSU has signed several highly ranked offensive line recruits in recent years, but they need experience. Other than Chester, LSU will only return two offensive lineman who have started a game: redshirt freshmen Tyree Adams and Paul Mubenga.
