Breaking News: Bama Lands Blockbuster Commitment For Another Top Star

Alabama football addressed a key need through the transfer portal, securing a commitment from edge rusher, who started his college career at Florida.

He announced his decision on social media in collaboration with Hayes Fawcett of On3.

The Gardendale native’s commitment marks his return to his home state. He is a member of the 2023 recruiting class, strongly considered Alabama during his high school recruitment but ultimately chose the Gators at the time.

top star is set to bolster Alabama’s edge rush, a position where the team currently lacks depth. Que Robinson’s eligibility has expired following a season-ending injury in 2024, and Keanu Koht’s transfer further emphasized the need for reinforcements. Adding a capable pass rusher like Collins became a top priority in the portal.

Collins began his college career as an edge rusher at Florida, recording 23 tackles and 1.5 sacks in a reserve role during the 2023 season, which earned him Freshman All-SEC honors. However, a position switch in 2024 to a three-technique end role limited his opportunities, and he logged just six tackles that season, all against Mississippi State.

Initially rated as a three-star recruit out of Gardendale High School, Collins gained a four-star rating in the transfer portal, per the 247Sports composite. He has also added size since high school, now listed at 6-foot-4 and 278 pounds, up from 265 pounds.
