The Buffalo Bills are coming off one of their most impressive victories of the season, defeating the Detroit Lions in a closely contested game that some are dubbing a potential Super Bowl preview.
After a tough loss to the Los Angeles Rams the previous week, Josh Allen and his teammates rebounded with a strong performance. This win was crucial, keeping the Bills in contention for the coveted first-round playoff bye.
However, during a recent episode of NFL Live on ESPN, Andrew Hawkins raised concerns about the Bills’ defense, noting that they’ve given up over 40 points in their last two games—a troubling trend at this stage of the season.
“This is a bad point in the season for this to be such an issue,” Hawkins said. While the Rams and Lions boast explosive offenses, the Bills can’t rely on scoring 40+ points in the playoffs to offset defensive struggles.
Hawkins questioned whether the defense can maintain the intensity required in the weeks ahead. Although Josh Allen is performing at an MVP-caliber level, the defense could be exposed if he has an off game.
It remains to be seen if the Bills can tighten up their defensive play as they head into the postseason.
