ESPN REPORT: Big Injury Update Regarding Bills QB Josh Allen after Lions Win

On Sunday, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills dominated a high-profile matchup between Super Bowl contenders. Allen and the Bills defeated the Detroit Lions, 48-42, at Ford Field in Detroit.

But before Buffalo supporters could really celebrate after the game, many of them received a bit of an injury scare about the quarterback when Allen was seen headed into the X-ray room with his trainer, according to Alaina Getzenberg.

The good news is that Allen did not appear to sustain any injuries. He later clarified that his X-ray room was only preventive.

“Josh Allen went to the x-ray room just outside the Bills’ locker room after the game, but he just said he simply wanted peace of mind after taking a ‘funky fall,'” tweeted ESPN’s Jeff Darlington. “There is no reason for alarm once the x-rays were obtained. Darlington said, “No broken bones.”

Buffalo Bills sign QB Josh Allen to 6-year extension; deal worth $258M with $150M guaranteed, sources say - ESPN

For what it’s worth, it appears that at least twice during the Lions game, Allen took a hard shot while rushing the ball.

Josh Allen had a strong overall performance for the Bills against the Lions. He completed 23-of-34 passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions. His two running scores, in addition to 68 yards on 11 carries, rounded out his spectacular Sunday. The 28-year-old Allen delivered another fantastic effort, reviving the Bills following a 44-42 setback to the Los Angeles Rams in Inglewood in Week 14. James Cook, the Bills’ leading rusher with 105 yards and two scores on 14 attempts, also contributed significantly to Allen’s attack.

The Bills’ defense needs to improve after allowing 84 points in their last two games, but they have already won the AFC East division and secured a berth in the NFL playoffs.

The Bills are currently 11-3 and will host the New England Patriots in Week 16 at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.
