The Bills will be without two starting defensive backs during Wednesday’s practice.
According to head coach Sean McDermott, cornerback Rasul Douglas and safety Taylor Rapp will not participate. The Bills will conduct a walkthrough rather than a full practice session.
Douglas suffered a knee injury and lost time in last Sunday’s loss to the Rams. Rapp played every defensive snap but is recovering from a neck ailment. McDermott stated the squad will take it day by day with both players as they prepare for this weekend’s game against the Lions.
The Bills are gearing up for a critical matchup against the Detroit Lions this weekend. The team hopes to solidify its playoff position despite battling injuries throughout the season. In addition to Douglas and Rapp, defensive end Casey Toohill was limited in practice due to a rib injury, while wide receiver Keon Coleman, recovering from a wrist issue, participated fully.
McDermott acknowledged the challenges posed by these injuries, noting the importance of resilience as the team navigates a competitive AFC playoff race. “We’ve faced adversity all year and will continue to find ways to compete,” he said.
Buffalo, currently sitting at 11-6, will need contributions from depth players if Douglas and Rapp are unavailable for the game against Detroit
