A highly ranked quarterback in the 2026 class from Pennsylvania who received another offer this summer, announced on his X page that he had decommitted from Atlantic Coast Conference school Virginia Tech and reopened his recruitment.
Peyton Falzone, a six-foot-five, 200-pound junior at Nazareth Area High School in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, is a four-star quarterback and a top-200 national talent in his cycle. According to a mid-November post on his X page, the dual-threat quarterback had 2,136 passing yards and 23 throwing touchdowns in 2024, while also rushing for 743 yards and eight scores.
In an interview with top 247Sports national analyst Tom Loy, Falzone stated, in part, “Based on discussions with my family, I believed it was vital to make this move. It didn’t feel right to visit other colleges while still committed to Virginia Tech. I owe it to myself, my family, and the colleges that recruited me to take full advantage of any opportunity that came my way during this critical period.”
Falzone, who was voted the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference’s offensive MVP in 2024, announced via his X account on June 22 of this year that he has received a scholarship offer from the Orange staff, led by first-year head coach and ace recruiter Fran Brown.

Falzone has been verbally committed to the Hokies since late June of this year. According to recruiting services, his offer sheet includes colleges like Penn State, Kent State, Wisconsin, Bucknell, and Lehigh, while Falzone is interested in Ohio State, Iowa, and Rutgers.
According to Loy, Falzone will visit Iowa on Friday before returning to Syracuse on Saturday for the Orange’s regular-season finale against No. 6 Miami at the JMA Wireless Dome in 2024. Falzone, according to his X page, visited Ohio State over the weekend.
Falzone is ranked in the top 200 overall, top 20 at quarterback, and top ten in Pennsylvania by numerous recruiting organizations for the 2026 class. Rivals.com presently ranks him as the sixth-best dual-threat quarterback in this cycle, while ESPN ranks Falzone fourth.
Syracuse football currently has two verbal commits in the 2026 class. They come from three-star running back D’Antae Sheffey of Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and three-star athlete/cornerback Jaxson Gates of Damien High School in La Verne, California, who verbally committed to the Orange earlier this week.
