Kansas State have secured the commitment of another top prospect, capping off a whirlwind week that began with his decommitment. Concepcion, who had initially pledged to NC State in April, reopened his recruitment last Sunday and quickly received an offer from Kansas State the following morning.
The Wildcats’ dominant win over Cincinnati on Saturday played a pivotal role in Concepcion’s decision. After announcing his plans to visit Manhattan on Thursday, he arrived in time to watch Kansas State’s offense shine in a 41-point performance. During his visit, Concepcion shared that he was looking to evaluate the offense, connect with the coaching staff, and assess the overall fit.
His impressions were overwhelmingly positive. Spending time with fellow recruit Larry Porter, Concepcion was seen closely observing the wide receivers during warmups and was impressed by the young offensive core, including Avery Johnson, Tre Spivey, and Joe Jackson. Reflecting on the experience, Concepcion told GoPowercat, “My favorite part of the game was watching K-State get the win.”
Arrion Concepcion has become Kansas State’s 22nd commit and third wide receiver commit for the 2025 class. Known as “Nunu,” the 5’9″ speedster from Julius L. Chambers High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, is celebrated for his dynamic playmaking ability. Whether lined up in the slot or on the outside, his route running and ability to adjust to the ball make him a standout prospect.
Compared to NFL stars like Antonio Brown and former Wildcat Tyler Lockett, Concepcion is expected to bring an explosive deep-threat presence to Kansas State’s receiving corps. He also has experience as a kick returner, which could provide additional opportunities to contribute early.
With the early signing period and transfer portal activity just around the corner, Concepcion’s commitment marks a significant win for Chris Klieman and his staff. Alongside two other commitments from the weekend’s official visits, Kansas State is quietly assembling one of the Big 12’s most promising recruiting classes.
