Newcastle United handed surprise team boost ahead of Wolves clash

The latest team news before of Wolves’ match against Newcastle United, with Eddie Howe confirming a surprise boost for the Magpies.
Newcastle United have received a surprise team news boost ahead of Saturday’s Premier League meeting against Wolverhampton Wanderers, as midfielder Sandro Tonali appears to be available to play. The 23-year-old was handed a 10-month ban from football for breaking betting rules yesterday, but the Magpies have yet to be properly told.

Tonali, who joined AC Milan for a fee of £55 million in the summer, has made 12 appearances for his new club, including three in the UEFA Champions League. The Italy international will be missed by Newcastle, but boss Eddie Howe believes he might still play in the near future.

“It’s difficult because we haven’t received official confirmation as a football club yet.” We’ve heard the news, speculation, and statements, but we’ve yet to hear from the Italian authorities. We’re in a state of flux right now. “We’re waiting for that official confirmation,” Howe said Friday morning.

“There’s a high chance again that he could be available for us. I still think there are a few things that have to happen before the ban’s imposed. Let’s see. In the Dortmund game, he came on and did very well, he was bright and that’s how he’s trained. From the moment this happened, his training performances have been very good,” Howe continued.
