Breaking News: Alabama Crimson Tide successfully flips 4-star Michigan commit

The Alabama football team is making the most of the final stages of recruiting and has secured a commitment from a former Michigan four-star prospect.

The Crimson Tide officially flipped defensive back, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.com. Taylor, who comes from NFL pedigree, is the son of Ike Taylor, a former Pittsburgh Steelers player who won two Super Bowls during his 12-season career.

Alabama had been emerging as a likely destination for Taylor in recent days, with On3.com’s Steve Wiltfong predicting the flip on Tuesday. Taylor is expected to finalize his commitment by signing his letter of intent during the early signing period from December 4-6.

This move adds to Alabama’s recent recruiting success, following the commitment of fellow four-star prospect Marshall Pritchett on October 22, which strengthens the tight end position for the team.

Taylor becomes Alabama’s ninth four-star commitment, helping to offset the recent decommitment of running back Anthony Rogers. Rogers, a four-star prospect, withdrew his commitment on Sunday and is now considering Ohio State and Georgia.

Taylor’s commitment adds to Alabama’s impressive track record of securing top talent from Florida. The safety, who stars at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, is also ranked as the fifth-best prospect in the state by 247Sports.

Andrew Ivins of 247Sports offered a glowing assessment of Taylor, comparing him to Tampa Bay Buccaneers star safety Antoine Winfield Jr. Ivins described Taylor as a “high-IQ safety prospect with elite NFL bloodlines” and praised his play in a two-deep safety system at the high school level, highlighting his “sound” tackling technique.
