Rafael Leao of AC Milan has stated that he and his teammates are unhappy with the draw against Borussia Dortmund and that they will go to Paris Saint-Germain to win.
Milan had several chances to break the deadlock in both half, but Olivier Giroud and Samuel Chukwueze in particular squandered them, forcing the Rossoneri to settle for another 0-0.
Newcastle United’s 4-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain moves them to the top of the group with four points from two games, while the Parisians are second with three, Milan with two, and Dortmund with one.
Leao spoke with Prime Video immediately after the game to reflect on a night that was frustrating from an offensive sense but left the group wide open. His remarks were relayed by MilanNews.
Are you pleased with the outcome?
“Certainly not. Even against Newcastle, we controlled the game, created chances, but failed to score, resulting in a draw. Today, in this environment, we controlled and provided many opportunities… We should have gotten three points for what we did.
“When you don’t score in the Champions League, others get there.” We did an excellent job in this atmosphere. I’m pleased for the team, but sad with the outcome.”
What was missing?
“There was a lack of ruthlessness, we made a mistake there. We need to be more aggressive in front of goal.”
What will you need to show in Paris?
“We know it’s a group of very strong teams, but we will go to Paris to win. We respect our opponents, they have great players, but our objective is to get through.”
