Patrick Mahomes’ Mom Asks for Prayers Ahead of Chiefs-Bills

The Kansas City Chiefs (9-0) and Buffalo Bills (8-2) will face off on Sunday in what could be the most important regular-season game of 2024. With potential home-field playoff implications on the line, Patrick Mahomes and company hope to be the NFL’s only unblemished team, while Buffalo comes in on its own five-game winning run.

Randi Mahomes, Mahomes’ mother, posted a few comments about her father Randy on social media ahead of the AFC championship game. “I’m going to visit my father. Priceless time and conversations… Randi Mahomes wrote about X on Friday. Just days ago, she requested her 101,000 followers to “please keep him in your prayers to get stronger.”

While Mahomes has not mentioned what is ailing her father, she did reveal on September 13 that he was in the hospital. “Prayer warriors, please pray for my dad. He is in the hospital and is not doing well… his name is Randy,” she posted on X. A few hours before kickoff of the Chiefs vs. Falcons “Sunday Night Football” game in Week 3, the Tyler, Texas, native shared an Instagram story from church with the comment, “This is how I fight my battles. If you are seeing this, please take a moment to pray for my father right now.

On Sept. 29, Mahomes also uploaded a photo near Randy’s bedside as they watched the Chiefs’ Week 4 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers together. The Chiefs start Sunday as two-point road underdogs with a 45% chance of winning, according to ESPN BET. It is uncertain whether Randi Mahomes and his family will be in attendance at Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium.
