Newcastle United suffered their first defeat in the Champions League, falling 1-0 to Borussia Dortmund of Germany.
However, while the Magpies lost three points, they also avoided a parking citation.
The same cannot be said for their visitors.
On Thursday, the Dortmund team bus was observed getting a £50 fine after parking over several car park places on Grand Parade in Tynemouth.
Newcastle United supporter Josh Valks posted a video on Facebook showing the moment a ticket became trapped on the yellow and black bus.
“Our Civil Enforcement Officers are required to issue a ticket when a vehicle is parked in violation of the restrictions in place,” according to a statement.
“We can confirm that a £50 ticket was issued to a bus parked on Grand Parade in Tynemouth earlier today.” If the fee is paid within 14 days, it will be reduced to £25.”
“If it makes it easier for our visitors, we will have a word with Eddie and the lads to see if they can collect it for us on November 7 after they get their revenge in Dortmund,” the local council continued.
“We hope the ticket and the grey North East weather didn’t dampen their trip to our stunning coastline.”
