Bills dealt big injury blow before chiefs showdown in Week 11

The Kansas City Chiefs may have received a stroke of luck as the Buffalo Bills will be missing one of their top player when the AFC powerhouses meet in Week 11.

The Chiefs’ quest for an undefeated season continues on the road with a Sunday matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Over recent years, these AFC titans have developed a fierce rivalry, clashing both in the regular season and the playoffs. This weekend’s Chiefs vs. Bills game is expected to deliver another intense battle.

Despite being the NFL’s only unbeaten team, the Chiefs cannot take the Bills lightly. Buffalo features talented playmakers on both offense and defense, providing head coach Sean McDermott with a competitive roster capable of challenging any opponent.

While the Bills will undoubtedly put up a fight, the task of defeating them could be slightly less daunting for Kansas City given the latest injury news affecting Buffalo’s lineup.

The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia reported Monday night that Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman will miss the Week 11 matchup against the Chiefs due to a wrist injury. The rookie has been a vital part of Buffalo’s offense, tallying 22 receptions for 417 yards and leading the team with three touchdown catches over nine games.

This isn’t the only bit of encouraging news for Chiefs fans. Buscaglia also noted that Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper continues to be affected by a wrist injury, and tight end Dalton Kincaid’s status remains uncertain following a knee injury sustained during Buffalo’s Week 10 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

The Bills’ offense has been tough to contain this season, averaging 29.0 points per game, ranking third in the league. However, their attack may become more manageable if Cooper and/or Kincaid are sidelined alongside Coleman this weekend.

Since Patrick Mahomes became the Chiefs’ starting quarterback in 2018, Kansas City has a 4-3 record against the Bills, with three of those matchups taking place in the postseason. This includes a 27-24 victory in the AFC Divisional Round that propelled the Chiefs to win Super Bowl LVIII.

Although the Chiefs are the visiting team this week, playing on Buffalo’s turf hasn’t posed much of a challenge for them. Kansas City has won all four of their visits to Highmark Stadium since September 2012, with an average winning margin of 6.5 points.

To continue that streak, the Chiefs will need a complete effort. Currently, FanDuel Sportsbook has the Bills as narrow 1.5-point favorites for Sunday’s critical clash.
