Latest: MLB takes Mind-blowing Decision Involving Phillies All-Star Player

When the MLB announced the nominees for the 2024 All-MLB Team a few weeks ago, the Philadelphia Phillies made a strong showing with nine overall nominations. Among them, Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, and Zack Wheeler stood out in their respective positions.

However, one Phillie with strong credentials for the 2024 season was shockingly left off the list: outfielder Nick Castellanos.

Castellanos had a rough start to the season, struggling with a batting average below .200, only two home runs, and nine RBIs in the first month. However, he bounced back significantly, finishing the year with impressive stats.

Among MLB outfielders, Castellanos ranked highly, placing 14th in runs scored (80), 10th in hits (154), 13th in doubles (30), 14th in home runs (23), and ninth in RBIs (86).

Despite his solid performance, Castellanos was left off the list of 17 outfielders nominated for the All-MLB Team. While big names like Aaron Judge and Juan Soto overshadowed his numbers, Castellanos arguably deserved a spot over some nominees like Tyler O’Neill, Seiya Suzuki, and Daulton Varsho. The selection may have favored specific strengths, such as O’Neill’s 30+ home runs, Suzuki’s batting average and speed, and Varsho’s outstanding defense.

Though Castellanos missed the cut, he wasn’t the only snubbed player; his teammate J.T. Realmuto, a three-time All-Star and multiple award winner, also failed to make the list. Hopefully, the other nine Phillies nominated will have better luck when the final results are announced on Thursday, Nov. 14, during the All-MLB Team Show on MLB Network.
