Breaking: Davante Adams Trade Saga Takes Unexpected Twist

Over the past few weeks, it seemed almost certain that the Las Vegas Raiders would trade Davante Adams. However, the saga might not end as expected.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adams might remain with the Raiders instead of being traded. The situation has been described as “fluid and unpredictable.”

While multiple teams have shown interest in Adams, the level of interest hasn’t met expectations for a three-time All-Pro. The lack of strong interest is reportedly due to the Raiders’ high asking price and their refusal to cover any of Adams’ remaining salary in a potential trade.

Schefter also mentioned that a recent personnel decision may have eased tensions between Adams and the Raiders. Before the team’s Week 6 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Raiders chose to bench quarterback Gardner Minshew in favor of Aidan O’Connell. Adams is known to be a strong supporter of O’Connell, which could influence his outlook on staying with the team.

Despite speculation linking Adams to various trades, including a possible reunion with former quarterback Aaron Rodgers, it appears that the Raiders’ firm stance might lead to Adams staying in Las Vegas.

Tom Brady’s Ownership Stake in Las Vegas Raiders Expected to Be Approved, per Report

NFL legend Tom Brady is anticipated to be approved as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders this week, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

A formal vote will take place during Tuesday’s NFL fall owners’ meetings in Atlanta, where at least 24 out of 32 owners must approve Brady’s stake in the Raiders. The NFL’s finance committee has already given unanimous approval, which sources told Schefter is a rare occurrence.

Brady is expected to acquire about 10% of the Raiders. He and majority owner Mark Davis agreed to the deal in May 2023, but it needed league approval before the vote.

Once approved, Brady will become just the third former player to own an NFL team, joining George Halas, who transitioned from player to owner of the Chicago Bears, and Jerry Richardson, who moved from the Baltimore Colts to owning the Carolina Panthers.
