Injury Update: Unforeseen Setback As Rebels Prepare For A Crucial SEC Match

Ole Miss football is preparing for a crucial SEC showdown against LSU, and there are some important injury updates to note. Wide receiver Tre Harris is expected to play in the matchup, according to ESPN, while defensive end Princely Umanmielen is considered a game-time decision.

This game is significant for both teams, as they are ranked and Ole Miss finds itself in a must-win situation. After already losing to Kentucky this season, another conference loss could severely impact Ole Miss’s chances of competing for a conference championship.

Tre Harris was initially listed as questionable earlier in the week but has since been upgraded to probable. The wide receiver has been a key player for the Ole Miss offense this season, recording 52 receptions for 885 yards and five touchdowns. He had a standout performance against Georgia Southern earlier this year, racking up 225 receiving yards.

On the defensive side, Princely Umanmielen is also an essential contributor. This season, the defensive end has recorded six tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks, highlighting his impact on the team’s defense.

Ole Miss simply must defeat LSU on Saturday

The Rebels suffered a home loss to Kentucky earlier this season, making it crucial for them to avoid another defeat in SEC play. Lane Kiffin, in his fifth season as head coach, faces high expectations as he aims to lead the team to success. Ole Miss is coming off a strong 2023 season, finishing with 11 wins and culminating in a Peach Bowl victory over Penn State.

Ole Miss football’s offense has been highly successful this season under Lane Kiffin, with the exception of the loss to Kentucky. The Rebels rank 10th in the nation in scoring offense, averaging an impressive 44 points per game. The defense is also excelling, currently ranked third in the country for scoring defense.

The Rebels are set to face LSU on Saturday at 7:30 PM Eastern. LSU enters the matchup with a 4-1 record on the season.
