Breaking: LSU Loses Another Top Star To Devastating Injury

When the initial SEC availability report was published earlier in the week, it quickly became apparent that LSU would be without top wild receiver, even before Brian Kelly confirmed he was out for the season. There were also doubts about whether CJ Daniels and Chris Hilton Jr. would be available, as both were listed as questionable.

Now, it looks likely that the two receivers will miss Saturday night’s game against Ole Miss, as their status has been downgraded from “Questionable” to “Doubtful.”

Chris Hilton Jr. is still contending with “bone bruises” in his foot, while CJ Daniels has a meniscus injury and a history of knee issues, which calls for extra caution from LSU.

On the other side of this matchup, Ole Miss’s star receiver Tre Harris is expected to play after sitting out the second half of the South Carolina game due to an injury.

With LSU aiming for the College Football Playoff, this is a challenging time to face numerous injuries. The Tigers will need players like Zavion Thomas, Shelton Sampson, and Jelani Watkins to step up when their time comes.

How will this team handle the adversity?

Reflecting on this LSU football season, one of the major storylines will be how the team either overcame injuries or saw their playoff hopes slip away due to them. The Tigers have lost Harold Perkins Jr., Jacobian Guillory, Kyle Parker, and John Emery Jr. for the season, and Chris Hilton Jr. has yet to take the field. This season could have been LSU’s path to the College Football Playoffs, but injuries have posed significant challenges.
