Breaking News: Sabres Gives Kevyn Adams An ultimatum To…….

The Buffalo Sabres are off to an 0-3-0 start, but despite their record, they aren’t necessarily a bad team. Sure, being outscored 10-3 might make them look weak, and some may perceive them as terrible.

However, the Sabres didn’t play poorly last night. They won 58.3% of their faceoffs, delivered 28 hits, and recorded eight takeaways. Buffalo also outshot Los Angeles 33-23 overall, with a 27-11 advantage over the first two periods.

Yet, once again, they managed to lose, scoring only one goal for the third consecutive game. And no, it wasn’t the goal they needed to secure a win, as I noted previously.

This latest loss is another example of why Kevyn Adams has gone from being a respected figure in team rebuilding to one of the most criticized general managers in the league.

Kevyn Adams deserves to be on the hot seat, and for good reason

I can’t count how many times I’ve emphasized the Sabres’ need for a top-six forward, yet here we are, only three games into the 2024-25 season, and it still hasn’t been addressed. I’m no insider, so I don’t know if Kevyn Adams is actively pursuing a trade, but if he isn’t, it needs to happen immediately. The current roster is on pace to score even fewer goals than last season’s San Jose Sharks, who managed to score four in a single game last night.

Once again, the Sabres are making mediocre goaltenders look good. Yes, they’ve become more physical, and I’m thankful for that, but unless Adams realizes they need one more proven scorer, this team is heading toward irrelevance in the NHL.

If this situation doesn’t improve, Adams has to go. He did a solid job building the prospect pool and seemed to set the team up for success, as nearly making the playoffs in 2022-23 suggested. That close call should have prompted a major trade, but it hasn’t, and right now, I have no confidence it will.

The Sabres need to deliver an ultimatum to Adams: Find a top-six forward by November 1st, or resign. And if he doesn’t resign, they should fire him and send him out the door immediately.
