Breaking News: San Diego Padres Top Star Arrested and Detained After…

A No. 1 overall MLB Draft pick for the San Diego Padres is reportedly engaged in a four-car accident and a foot chase by police.

According to USA Today, the Padres’ first-round pick, was arrested last week in Arlington, Texas. After being requested to pull over by authorities for driving recklessly, the 38-year-old decided to try to elude them.

The six-year MLB veteran endangered several Arlington homes when he ran a red light. He then caused a four-car crash in an attempt to avoid arrest. “Authorities allege Bush ran a red light just prior to the accident, hit a truck, and collided with two other vehicles stopped at a traffic light,” according to the newspaper.

Fortunately, no life-threatening injuries were recorded in the incident. However, this is not where things ended. The former Padres prospect fled his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Fortunately, officials were able to pursue and apprehend him. Bush has apparently been accused with driving while intoxicated, fleeing arrest, and being involved in an accident that caused damage.

Matt Bush was picked by the San Diego Padres after being a local high school standout. Unfortunately, he failed in the minors as a shortstop and was finally moved to pitching. However, his tenure with the team was cut short after he was accused of assaulting two high school lacrosse players.

After being transferred to the Toronto Blue Jays, he was quickly released following another assault allegation, this time against a woman. In 2012, he was sentenced to nearly five years in prison for colliding with a 72-year-old motorcyclist while intoxicated. He also left the scene of the collision.

Following his time in prison, he resumed his baseball career. Bush would pitch for the Texas Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers across six years in the major leagues, from 2016 to 2023.
