News Flash: Georgia Bulldogs Lands $369,000 Contract For A Five Star Player

The Georgia Bulldogs are working on strengthening their defense, though fans might need to be patient for the results. Head coach Kirby Smart has his sights set on returning to Atlanta for the SEC Championship, but he’s also preparing for the future. According to On3.com’s Steve Wiltfong, Georgia is in a strong position to secure two five-star recruits for 2025: defensive lineman and pass rusher Elijah Griffin.

Wiltfong reported that the five star is a standout from Manchester High in Georgia, attended Georgia’s recent win over Auburn and stayed overnight. With his visit and the Bulldogs’ current recruiting efforts, Georgia is considered the frontrunner to land both Terry and Griffin, which would be a significant boost to their defense.

Terry is the defensive lineman ranked second on On3. Elijah Griffin, the top prospect at the position, is officially traveling to Athens this weekend. This week is his birthday, so it wouldn’t be shocking if he became a Bulldog to celebrate. Georgia is the obvious team for Griffin to defeat, just like Terry.”

On3.com predicts that Georgia is heavily favored to land five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry over Alabama, giving the Bulldogs a 96.8% chance to secure his commitment, compared to Alabama’s slim 1.2% chance. Terry, ranked as the No. 8 player nationally in the 2025 class, holds a projected NIL value of $369,000, per On3. Currently, Georgia’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked fifth by 247Sports, but head coach Kirby Smart aims to boost their standing further by adding top talents like Terry and fellow five-star pass rusher Elijah Griffin.
