The annual Georgia-Florida rivalry will take on a new look after the 2025 season, with plans now set for where the two SEC rivals will face off in 2026 and 2027.
This week marks the 103rd meeting between the Bulldogs and Gators, a rivalry dating back to 1904. Since 1926, the game has mostly been held in Jacksonville, aside from a home-and-home series in 1994-95.
EverBank Stadium, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, is scheduled for a $1.4 billion renovation, prompting Georgia and Florida to consider alternative locations or a home-and-home format for 2026-27.
According to Brett McMurphy of Action Network, the SEC rivals have now decided on a plan: the game will be held at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2026, followed by Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium in 2027. After that, the rivalry is expected to return to Jacksonville for “at least the next few years.”
Both teams are familiar with Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which hosts the SEC Championship, the Peach Bowl, and has hosted two national championships, including this year’s title game.
Raymond James Stadium, home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and USF Bulls, hosts the Gasparilla and ReliaQuest Bowls and also served as the venue for the 2017 national championship.
This year’s game is scheduled for Saturday in Jacksonville. No. 2 Georgia (6-1) will face Florida (4-3) at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Georgia has won the last three meetings and is currently a 16.5-point favorite, according to ESPN Bet.
