NFL Makes Announcement Regarding Von Miller Punishment

The Buffalo Bills defeated the Seattle Seahawks 31-10 in Week 8, and after Von Miller’s four-game suspension, the franchise has received a formal decision from NFL. Miller was suspended for four games beginning October 1st for breaching the NFL’s personal conduct policy, which came from claims that he abused his pregnant girlfriend in November 2023. The four games have passed, Buffalo can return Miller to the roster and have him play again in Week 9.

The NFL also stated that the Bills will have a roster exemption that expires next Monday, allowing them to keep 54 players on the roster for the next week while they prepare for Miller’s return.

This is common operating procedure for clubs bringing back a suspended player, but it is worth noting because Buffalo has a slight competitive advantage in their next game against the Miami Dolphins. Not only will they be receiving back an extremely productive pass rusher in Miller, but they won’t have to make a comparable roster change until next week, so they’ll probably wait until after their game against the Dolphins to decide what to do.

Miller struggled mightily in his first full season with the Bills last year, but he had three sacks in the first four games of this season before being suspended. With Buffalo on the rise, Miller will aim to continue where he left off in Week 9 against Miami, if he plays. The Bills’ upcoming game against the Dolphins is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST, and a win could effectively seal the AFC East for them, despite the fact that the season is barely halfway over.
