Just In: Cardinals Confirms Major Trade For Another Highly Experienced Star

The St. Louis Cardinals have made their first major league move of the offseason, finalizing a trade with the Minnesota Twins to acquire utility player in exchange for cash considerations. This transaction completes the Cardinals’ 40-man roster ahead of spring training.

Top star 28, has had a challenging path to the majors. Drafted by the Twins in the 11th round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of Texas A&M, his progress was hindered by injuries. However, after years of determination, he finally reached the big leagues in 2024.

Although Helman’s stint with the Twins was brief—just nine games—he made a strong impression, hitting .300 with a .500 slugging percentage over 10 at-bats, recording two runs and three hits.

 

Prior to his MLB debut, Helman had a standout season with Triple-A St. Paul. In 72 games, he posted a .271 batting average, a .439 on-base percentage, and a .772 slugging percentage, along with 14 home runs, 18 doubles, and 49 RBIs. His defensive versatility also stood out, as he covered all three outfield spots, third base, and even saw time at second and shortstop.
