Bills’ Kicker Reacts to Fan Gesture After Recent Struggles

The Buffalo Bills defeated the Tennessee Titans 34-10 on Sunday, improving to 5-2. The offense looked impressive throughout the day with the acquisition of Amari Cooper, but another unit was equally impressive. The Bills’ special teams also had a successful day, particularly kicker Tyler Bass. Bass, who had previously made 75 percent of his kicks and 90 percent of his extra points, went two for two on field goal tries and three for three on extra point attempts. After the game, Bass discussed how fan support began even before the game started on Sunday.

Tyler Bass: "I'm Super Humbled, I'm Honored"

“When I got out there for pregame, man, there was a lot of love,” Bass joked. “It was really cool to witness. True fans love you wholeheartedly. And that made me very delighted. They have always been there for me. Bass is in his fifth season as the Bills’ starting kicker after being picked in the sixth round of the 2020 draft. After a few successful seasons in Buffalo, Bass began to suffer in early 2024. Before Week 7, coach Sean McDermott stated that he was “concerned” about the kicker. The Bills also tried out many kickers this week and added Lukas Havrisik to their practice squad.

However, after his performance on Sunday, it appears that Bass will be the starter for at least another week. His perfect game increased his season field goal percentage to 78.6 percent, placing him 25th in the league.
