East Carolina football commit recently shared his excitement about his first game day experience with the Pirates, describing it as a memorable moment that reinforced his decision to commit. Lackey mentioned that the atmosphere at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, the energy from the crowd, and the support from the coaching staff made him feel like ECU was the right place for him, saying, “It definitely felt like home.”
Bernard Lackey Jr. made his first game day visit on Saturday for the Pirates’ matchup against Appalachian State at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Although the 21-19 loss was disappointing, Lackey was impressed by nearly everything else during his visit to Greenville.
“I loved the environment!!!” Lackey shared via text. “It really felt like home when I arrived at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The fans and family showed so much love, and that’s what matters to me. Even though the result didn’t go our way, I could see the coaches had a solid game plan, and the players gave it their all.”
