Breaking: Top Talented 4-Star Shocks Alabama Football With Massive Commitment to Program

Alabama football has added another talented player to its 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of tight end who has flipped from North Carolina. Pritchett, a four-star recruit from Rabun Gap, Georgia, initially committed to the Tar Heels in the spring, but Alabama’s persistent recruiting efforts led by Bryan Ellis and the rest of the staff ultimately swayed him.

Pritchett is ranked as the No. 15 tight end in the country according to 247Sports and is noted for his size at 6-foot-5, 225 pounds. The No. 404 overall player in the Top247 rankings, Pritchett will join a loaded Alabama class that now includes 23 commitments. He becomes the second tight end in the 2025 group, alongside Kaleb Edwards.

A major factor in Pritchett’s decision was Alabama’s use of 12 personnel and the opportunity to be involved in the passing game, even while playing as a traditional in-line tight end. His visits to Tuscaloosa in June and for the Georgia game in September solidified his interest, as he felt the staff’s high level of commitment and saw firsthand the program’s success on the field.

Pritchett described Alabama as the “gold standard of college football” and expressed his readiness to compete with top talent while striving for a national championship. He plans to enroll in January and is eager to start working toward those goals with his new teammates, making it clear that his decision is final and he won’t be reopening his recruitment.
