Major Breaking: Reds to Get Huge Boost with Return of Another Top Star

After missing the entire 2024 season due to a torn labrum in his shoulder, infielder for the Cincinnati Reds, made his return to action by joining the Glendale Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League. McLain, who had been sidelined since March, was a late addition to the roster and was placed on the taxi squad, a designation that allows him to play in only two games per week.

In his first week back, McLain showed promise, collecting two hits in each game, including three extra-base hits. However, his return hit a snag when he was a late scratch from the lineup on October 14th and did not play again for the next 10 days. The reason for his absence was not disclosed, but reports suggested he was still “ramping up” to game shape.

McLain returned to the lineup on October 19th, playing in a 7-inning game as part of a triple-header at Goodyear Ballpark. Unfortunately, it was a tough outing for him, as he went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts. None of the other Reds prospects saw action for the Desert Dogs in that game.

McLain’s participation in the Arizona Fall League provides a chance to regain his form and make up for lost time, aiming to be fully prepared for the 2025 season after a year away from competitive baseball.
