The New York Knicks made a notable move, acquiring a significant return in exchange for center Jericho Sims.

Knicks reel in pair of talented guards for Jericho Sims

According to SNY’s Ian Begley, the New York Knicks traded center Jericho Sims and the draft rights to French center Mathias Lessort to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for guard Delon Wright and the draft rights to French guard Hugo Besson.

Wright and Besson add depth to Knicks’ backcourt

A 10-year NBA veteran, has built a reputation as a strong on-ball defender and a reliable three-point shooter. The 32-year-old excels at controlling the pace of the game and is versatile enough to play effectively both on and off the ball.

Hugo Besson, 23, is an explosive outside shooter known for his sharp ball-handling and confidence to pull up from deep. His skill set appears well-suited for the NBA, with the potential to thrive as a spot-up shooter. His game draws comparisons to Atlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic, thanks to his scoring versatility and shooting prowess.

The Knicks will look to maximize the contributions of both Delon Wright and Besson on both ends of the floor. While New York is currently solid at point guard with All-Star Jalen Brunson and backup Cam Payne, either Wright or Besson could carve out a role at the back end of the roster in due time.

As for Jericho Sims, he didn’t fully tap into his potential with the Knicks but now has an opportunity to earn meaningful minutes with the Bucks, contributing with his rebounding and effectiveness in pick-and-roll situations.
