Latest News: Georgia Star Diagnosed With a Mysterious Sickness

It’s one of the biggest games of the college football season this weekend as the Georgia Bulldogs travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Both teams are relatively healthy heading into this top-five matchup, but Georgia will be without one of their wide receivers for Saturday’s game.

Wide receiver London Humphreys has been diagnosed with mononucleosis, as confirmed by Bulldogs on SI and initially reported by Dawgs347. While Humphreys is not a starter for the Bulldogs, he has been an important rotational player at wideout this season in his first year in Athens. His most notable performance came against Vanderbilt, where he recorded two receptions for 63 yards and a touchdown. However, he has not tallied any stats since week one.

Although Georgia isn’t losing a starter, the absence of depth in a critical game is certainly a concern. The Bulldogs will need to rely on their other receivers to step up in what promises to be a highly competitive matchup against Alabama.

Here’s the Georgia Football injury report as of September 23:

Mykel Williams: “I’m hopeful. We will see. He didn’t do much last week; he got a lot of rehab on Friday and Sunday. He was able to run. We will have to go out to practice today and see how things go.”

Roderick Robinson: Out (Toe injury).

Tate Ratledge : Underwent Tightrope surgery to repair his high ankle sprain and a knee sprain. Timeline for return is TBD.

Warren Brinson: “Warren practiced last week at the end of the week.”

Jordan Hall: “We are hoping to get Jordan Hall back; he’s been working tirelessly in his rehab.”

With the upcoming matchup against Alabama, the status of Mykel Williams and Jordan Hall will be particularly important, as their presence could bolster the team’s defensive efforts.
