Just In: Good News For Cowboys as Two Key Stars Suffer Devastating Injuries

The Dallas Cowboys are in desperate need of a win after suffering back-to-back home losses to the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens. These defeats have left the Cowboys looking like one of the worst teams in the NFC, particularly in front of their home fans.

However, Dallas has an opportunity to turn things around on Thursday night against the New York Giants, who are coming off their first win of the season in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns. The Giants’ offense will aim to exploit the Cowboys’ defensive struggles, while Dallas’ offense will look to attack New York’s defense.

The Giants’ defense is facing significant challenges heading into Thursday’s game, which could work in favor of Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys. According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, cornerbacks Adoree’ Jackson and Dru Phillips are both listed as “did not practice” due to calf injuries. If they are unable to play, it would be a major blow to the Giants’ secondary, giving the Cowboys’ receivers and tight ends a prime opportunity to exploit New York’s defensive depth.

Jackson has contributed three combined tackles and a pass deflection this season, while Phillips has been impactful with 17 combined tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, a quarterback hit, and a forced fumble.

Despite their recent struggles, the Cowboys still rank sixth in scoring (25.7 points per game) and first in passing yards (269.7 yards per game). Yet, aside from their Week 1 victory over the Cleveland Browns, this hasn’t translated into consistent wins. Nevertheless, the Cowboys are still favored by 5.5 points for Thursday’s matchup, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
