The San Antonio Spurs have largely completed their roster but recently gave Jameer Nelson Jr. another look. Nelson, the son of former NBA player Jameer Nelson Sr., known for his time with the Orlando Magic, played for the Spurs during the 2024 NBA Summer League, averaging four points in 11 minutes per game. Despite his modest performance, the Spurs offered Nelson an Exhibit 10 contract. While his chances of making the main roster are slim, it’s more likely he’ll join the Austin Spurs, San Antonio’s G League affiliate.

With the NBA season still a month away, San Antonio Spurs forward Keldon Johnson took some time off to enjoy college football. He attended the UWI football game against Northern Arizona, where UWI won decisively, 38-14. During the game, Johnson also made a young Spurs fan’s day by taking a picture with him. Barnes, acquired in a trade, brings valuable veteran leadership and improved 3-point shooting to the team. His ability to stretch the floor will complement Wembanyama’s skills on offense. While Barnes may not be as athletic as in his prime, his shooting and solid defense should help the Spurs improve and potentially climb out of the bottom 10 teams in the league.
