Latest Update: Colorado Buffaloes Lands New Commitment For Another Top Star

After a recent visit to Colorado, safety Antonio Branch Jr. has decided to join the Buffaloes, flipping his commitment from Penn State. The Miami Northwestern prospect told 247Sports that playing for Deion Sanders, one of the greatest cornerbacks in NFL history, was a major factor in his decision.

“It felt like home,” Branch said. “Why not get coached by the best?”

Branch had been committed to Penn State since mid-June but was in Boulder for Colorado’s dramatic overtime victory against Baylor, which included a game-tying Hail Mary.

Initially, Branch made official visits to Penn State and Nebraska in the spring before choosing the Nittany Lions. Colorado entered the picture after offering him on September 5, and Branch quickly arranged a visit that coincided with the thrilling Baylor game.

Ranked as the nation’s No. 38 safety and Florida’s No. 57 player, Branch becomes the eighth member of Colorado’s 2024 class, the fewest among Power Four schools. His commitment pushed the Buffaloes’ team ranking from No. 85 to No. 79.
