JUST IN: Ohio State Among Finalists To Commit Highly-Rated 4-Star Player

The Buckeyes are set to welcome a 2025 four-star edge rusher soon. Currently, Ohio State is undefeated at 2-0 after benefiting from an early bye week. During this break, the coaching staff and players focused on recovering from injuries and addressing issues identified from previous games. Ohio State is preparing to face Marshall this week and is expected to secure a win to advance to 3-0, as they are strong favorites.

Additionally, during the bye week, the Ohio State coaching staff intensified their recruiting efforts, extending offers to several offensive line prospects for the 2025 class, aiming to strengthen a position that currently needs improvement.

At the start of the week, Ohio State continued to make waves in recruiting by making the top schools list for a crucial 2025 linebacker target. Four-star LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng (Bradenton, FL / IMG Academy) announced his top six schools on Monday, including Ohio State among his finalists.

Besides the Buckeyes, Owusu-Boateng’s list includes Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida, USC, and Texas. He has been a long-time target for Ohio State and visited the campus officially in June. He has also visited all the other schools on his list, except for Florida, though he attended Florida’s first game of the season and might still schedule an official visit with them.

Owusu-Boateng is expected to visit the schools on his shortlist before making a decision. Although he mentioned a commitment date could be imminent, he hasn’t finalized his choice yet. Ohio State will aim to bring him back for an in-game visit to improve their chances of securing his commitment. Given his current high school football season in Florida, scheduling this visit might be challenging, but it could significantly boost the Buckeyes’ prospects.

Owusu-Boateng is ranked as the No. 8 linebacker and No. 73 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, and the No. 11 recruit from Florida.
