JUST IN: Auburn QB Payton Thorne makes hilarious admission after loss

Auburn Football QB Payton Thorne explained the disadvantages of playing in the SEC.
Payton Thorne, Auburn football quarterback, is ready to move on after his Week 2 setback. The Tigers lost 21-14 at California, with the senior completing 14-of-27 throws for 165 yards, one score, and four interceptions. Thorne is more likely to rebound from his disappointing performance in Week 2, but he is also getting some unwanted attention along the way.

Auburn’s loss has reverberated throughout the football landscape, including among the betting public. So much so that fans are asking refunds from Thorne for their weekend bets, among other harsh comments, following his participation on “The Next Round.”

“Obviously, everyone says don’t listen to it and all that. That can be easier said than done in today’s society, where they come at you from all sides,” Thorne added. “You heard it verbally. That’s probably the smallest one. However, you can occasionally hear it while strolling down the street. Then, of course, there’s social media; they hit you up on Venmo and other platforms.

“You just need to block it out. You must return to the foundation of your life. Thorne went on, “And that’s my faith and my family.” “So simply doing that, but also focusing on what comes next. As I already stated, there is nothing we can do about Saturday; but, I can address today.

To minimize misunderstandings, Thorne had to clarify the Venmo issue.

“They’re definitely not sending cash,” Thorne stated. “It is funny. When they lose money, they want it back; but, when they win money on a parlay, no one has ever sent me any of it.”

Last week, Auburn was a 13.5-point favorite over Cal. The wide margin was mostly owing to their 73-3 victory over Alabama A&M the previous week. The Venmo situation is quite worrisome, to say the least. But Thorne isn’t the only college player who has had to deal with outside noise, which is perhaps why he’s trying to shrug it off.

Will Payton Thorne remain Auburn’s starting quarterback?

Hugh Freeze, Auburn football’s head coach, has a big decision to make before the team’s Week 3 game against New Mexico. While Thorne might easily bounce back after throwing for 322 yards and four touchdowns in Week 1, Tigers fans have been demanding for more opportunities for rookie Hank Brown.

Despite Brown’s great talent, it appears that Freeze will give Thorne a chance to redeem himself in a far less intimidating battle against winless New Mexico at Jordan-Hare Stadium on September 14.
