BREAKING NEWS: Texas Tech Red Raiders Coach Resigns

The Texas Tech Red Raiders announced on Wednesday that assistant coach Joe Hughes has resigned from the program. Hughes, who has served in various roles including Director of Operations, is stepping away from college baseball entirely. Head coach Tim Tadlock expressed his gratitude for Hughes’ contributions, saying, “Joe has been instrumental in our program’s success and will be greatly missed. He and his family will always remain part of the Red Raiders.”

Hughes has been with Tadlock since their days at Grayson County College and was an original member of the coaching staff when Tadlock joined Texas Tech in 2012. He transitioned from Director of Operations to assistant coach ahead of the 2024 season. Reflecting on his time, Hughes said, “I am deeply thankful to Coach Tadlock, the staff, administration, Red Raider Nation, and the players for an incredible 12 years.
