BREAKING: Commitment! Top Experienced 5-star WR Picks Notre Dame

The player visited Notre Dame on a game day last season, and the experience left a lasting impression on the 2026 Ohio receiver.

“I absolutely loved it,” says the standout from Taylor High School. “It was an amazing experience—definitely the best visit I’ve had.”

He particularly remembers the fans, who created an incredible atmosphere. “The energy from the fans was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The coaches were fantastic, and the overall vibe was just phenomenal. I felt like I really fit in there.”

So when Notre Dame invited him back for their home opener against Northern Illinois this weekend, McFarland eagerly accepted.

“I’m looking forward to meeting with the coaches and seeing where it goes from there,” he said. “I’m excited and ready for college.”

McFarland currently holds offers from West Virginia, Marshall, and UMass.

“It’s exciting,” he says of the offers he’s received. “Playing college football means a lot to me. I always dreamed of it, but I wasn’t always the biggest, so I doubted it might happen. But after getting my first offer and realizing I had a shot, I just kept working hard.”

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver notes that college coaches appreciate his speed and catching ability, particularly as a slot receiver. “They like my quickness off the ball and my skills as a pass-catcher. I switched to slot receiver this year and hope to showcase my abilities.”

Despite the offers he’s received, McFarland clearly has a strong interest in Notre Dame and would be quick to accept an offer from them. For now, he’s continuing with his recruiting process and has several visits planned for the fall.

“I’ve got visits lined up to Alabama on November 30th, West Virginia on the 23rd, and I’ll be at Notre Dame this week. I also have visits to Michigan State on September 14th, Michigan, and Purdue.”
