The Nebraska football team will host a big game this weekend when rival Colorado visits Lincoln. It’s always entertaining when these two colleges meet on the football field, and Saturday night’s matchup promises to be one of the better games of week two. Cornhuskers supporters are ready, and Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule is thrilled that the school will be in the spotlight this weekend.

Nebraska football supporters are among the greatest in the nation, and all eyes will be on them and the program this weekend.

This rivalry game against Colorado is on prime time, and the entire country will be watching. It will be enjoyable, and Matt Rhule is confident that it will bring positive results to Nebraska.

“It’s great for the game,” Rhule stated, according to a CBS piece. “It’s fantastic for us. It’s fantastic for our university. People from all over the country will be tuning in this week to watch the football game, and they will see our fan base. They will see the class in which we play. They’ll see two outstanding teams compete. They will see our campus. We’ve had enough of these games, and applications and admissions are starting to increase. Good things begin to happen. “I watched the game this week, and it happened in Colorado.”

Nebraska hasn’t been very good at football in recent years, having not made a bowl game since the 2016 season. However, the way their fandom behaves would lead you to believe otherwise. Cornhuskers fans now have optimism, and the stadium will be rocking on Saturday night.

These two teams also faced off last season, with the Colorado football team easily winning. However, the Cornhuskers appear to be a much superior team this year, making it difficult for the Buffaloes to win on the road. However, many individuals believe that the Buffaloes have also made significant improvements.

“They’re gonna be a hell of a lot better than they were last year,” pro wrestling great Bill Goldberg predicted about the Buffaloes. “I believe they will silence a large number of people. They’ll surprise a lot of folks. But, in the end, if you do not win every game, you have failed. Deion believes it makes no difference if they outperform previous year. He wants to win everything. They’re a lot better off than they were last year.

Goldberg’s son, Gage, is a freshman on the Colorado football team.

Following a successful first week, both of these teams are 1-0. Nebraska looked very solid, led by new quarterback Dylan Raiola, as they cruised to a 40-7 win over UTEP. Colorado battled and just avoided an upset at home against FCS North Dakota State.

On Saturday night, at 7:30 p.m. ET, Nebraska and Colorado will face off at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. The game will telecast on NBC, with the Cornhuskers currently leading by seven points.
