JUST IN: Dukes Land Commitment For 4-star Experienced Player

Duke signs its top recruit for the class of 2025.

After initially committing to Clemson, Bryce Davis, a 4-star defensive end from Greensboro, North Carolina, reversed his choice to join Manny Diaz and the Blue Devils. He is the highest-rated recruit to have ever signed with Duke, according to 247Sports. Outside of Duke, Davis visited Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina, and Southern California.

Davis is ranked 77th in ESPN’s 2025 top 300 and the fourth-best player in North Carolina. The Grimsley product only played two games in 2023 due to a lower body ailment, but he made 92 tackles in his sophomore season.

Davis, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 245 pounds, is a larger defensive end prospect with the fast feet and explosiveness needed to disrupt the backfield at the varsity level. He will fit in well with new defensive coordinator Jonathan Patke’s teams, which concentrate in tackles for loss and sacks.

Davis is part of Diaz’s excellent class, which is ranked No. 33 by 247Sports. Other prominent prospects in the Blue Devil class include wide receiver Jaivon Soloman, defensive lineman Tommy Rupley, and fellow edge rusher Sampson Onuoha.

Duke’s 2024 season begins Aug. 30 versus Elon.
