Texas Tech head coach JoJo Robertson announced that Anna Dong has joined her staff as the team’s Manager of Sports Operations. Dong, an alumna of Texas Tech, played under Robertson for five seasons and concluded her collegiate career in 2023 by earning Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Anna back to Texas Tech and our women’s golf program,” Robertson said. “She excelled both on the golf course and in the classroom during her time here, and she will be an excellent role model for our student-athletes. I’m excited to work closely with her!”
Originally from Guangzhou, China, Dong spent the 2023-24 season as the assistant coach for the SMU women’s golf program. During her tenure, she helped lead the Mustangs to an AAC Championship and a return to the NCAA postseason. SMU tied for second in the NCAA Regional round, securing their spot in the NCAA Championships, where they finished 24th at Omni La Costa.
Dong wrapped up her playing career with an appearance at the NCAA Championship, marking Texas Tech’s third trip to the championships since Robertson became head coach in 2009.
In her new role as Manager of Sports Operations, Dong will assist with day-to-day practice planning and implementation. Her experience as a former Red Raider golfer will be valuable in providing individualized coaching for player skill development before, during, and after practice, both in-season and off-season.
The Red Raiders’ 2024-25 season kicks off on Friday, Aug. 30, at the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Links.
