BREAKING: Gators Land Surprise Commitment For Another Top Experienced Star

The Florida Gators entered the 2025 recruiting cycle with the wide receiver position as a key focus for the coaching staff. Before the day started, the Gators had commitments from two receivers and added a third when Miami (Fla.) Central three-star wide receiver Naeshaun Montgomery chose UF over several other finalists.

“There were many factors that influenced my decision, but a major one was how much they stayed in touch, not just with me, but with my family as well,” Montgomery told Swamp247. “I wanted my coaches to check on my family and see how they were doing, and that’s exactly what Florida did.”

Although several coaches on the Gators’ staff built strong relationships with the 6-foot-1, 165-pound receiver, Montgomery was particularly impressed by the involvement of head coach Billy Napier in his recruitment.

“Hearing from schools, you don’t always get much contact with the head coach. But with Coach Napier, he was very involved. He checked in on me every day,” Montgomery said. “Our conversations weren’t always about football; he would change things up so that every call was different.”

Now that Montgomery has committed, he becomes UF’s third wide receiver addition, joining four-star Vernell Brown III and three-star Joshua Moore in the class. Montgomery believes this trio has the potential to make a significant impact in college football.

“I think the three of us on the same field can dominate college football. I feel like we can all play as freshmen, and that’s our main goal when we get there. Plus, we have a great quarterback in DJ Lagway to get us the ball.”
