Unfortunate News: Brian Kelly announces key man will leave LSU due to health problems

LSU have stated that Dan Borné, a longtime Tiger Stadium public address announcer, is taking a short leave of absence to address health problems.

Borné, who has been the public address voice for LSU football for 38 years, expects to return to the booth during the 2024 season, according to a university news release. In the meantime, Bill Franques, Alex Box Stadium’s public address announcer, will take over.

“We are going to miss hearing Dan’s voice fill Tiger Stadium on Saturday nights,” coach Brian Kelly said in a statement. “Dan has contributed significantly to the atmosphere and excitement in Tiger Stadium. We wish Dan a speedy recovery and eagerly await his return to the Tiger Stadium broadcast booth.
