The Talented WR will be staying close to home for college, as he has committed to the LSU Tigers for the 2025 recruiting class. Originally committed to Michigan. The player who excels in both track and field and football, decided to join LSU, where he also holds a track scholarship offer.
Standing at 5′11″ and weighing 175 pounds, Wright becomes the second player from Destrehan Wildcats to join LSU’s 2025 class, following safety Jhase Thomas, who committed in July.
With Wright’s commitment, LSU’s 2025 recruiting class now includes 21 commitments and is ranked No. 3 nationally by On3, behind Ohio State and Alabama.
Wright will be the third wide receiver in this class, joining TaRon Francis from Karr and Derek Meadows from Las Vegas.
Wright III, a standout wide receiver known for his impressive speed and exceptional hands, made the announcement during a special ceremony at Destrehan High School. The 6’2″ senior has been a key player for the Wildcats, showcasing his playmaking abilities with 1,200 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in his junior year. His performance earned him recognition as one of the top wide receivers in the state and a coveted prospect nationwide.
The decision to commit to LSU follows a series of official visits and meetings with the Tigers’ coaching staff, who have been keen to bring Wright III on board. LSU head coach Brian Kelly and offensive coordinator Joe Sloan were instrumental in securing Wright III’s commitment, emphasizing their program’s commitment to developing top-tier talent and competing for national.
