The Gators are getting a look at a kicker committed to another SEC club.
The Florida Gators have already addressed a need on special teams for the 2025 cycle, with the addition of punter Hayden Craig in June. However, the Florida Gators have continued to seek for specialists, with head coach Billy Napier extending an offer to Bay Saint Louis (MS) St Stanislaus kicker Evan Noel in late July. Noel had been committed to Arkansas since October of last year, although he visited Gainesville in June. Since then, negotiations had continued until the offer was extended.
“I went over there last summer and kicked there. I did well and was offered a position as a PWO last year. I wanted to come back this summer and see what they had planned, so I returned to kick for them. They also asked me to stay after my workout to pay them a visit around the same time in June. We’ve been in touch frequently. Coach Napier called me not long ago and extended the offer.”
Coach Napier is one of Noel’s contacts at UF, but he’s also spoken with new off-field coach Joe Houston. The foundation of a relationship has already begun, and it continues with each conversation.
Arkansas fans are watching closely as the situation develops, with many hoping Noel remains committed to the Razorbacks. The team, led by head coach Sam Pittman, has been building a strong recruiting class and views Noel as a key component of their future success.
Florida, under head coach Billy Napier, has been actively seeking to bolster its special teams unit. The addition of a high-caliber kicker like Noel could significantly impact the Gators’ kicking game, which has been a point of emphasis in their recruiting strategy this year.
Noel has not yet set a timeline for his final decision, but he mentioned that he plans to visit Florida soon to meet with the coaching staff and tour the facilities. “I want to make an informed decision and ensure that wherever I choose to play, it’s the best fit for my future,” Noel added.
As Noel navigates this pivotal moment in his recruiting journey, both Arkansas and Florida fans are eagerly awaiting his next move.
