Breaking News: Florida State set to land blockbuster commitment for 4-star talented player

He’s one of the top cornerbacks in the 2025 class, and with only two colleges to pick from, four-star Onis Konanbanny says he’s ready to make a decision.

With over 40 offers, including from Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and others, Konanbanny trimmed his selection to two by the end of July.

Florida State and Tennessee are the two lucky last contestants, and he isn’t going to drag this out any more. According to sources, Konanbanny plans to make a commitment by the end of August.

“I’ve narrowed it down to Florida State and Tennessee. Tennessee was my initial offer, so they’ve been with me since the beginning. I enjoy how they’ve stuck with me and been consistent. Florida State offered a little later than Tennessee, but they’ve been recruiting me for a long time, and I have excellent relationships with the coaches there, just like I do at Tennessee,” Konanbanny told On3 at the end of July.

Tennessee may appear to be the clear favorite here. The Volunteers were the first to offer the Columbia, South Carolina kid, and he has a good working connection with head coach Josh Heupel and his staff.

Don’t count out the Seminoles, especially given the cornerback’s relationship with head coach Mike Norvell.

“I love Mike Norvell,” Konanbanny added. “How he treated me and my family during the official visit had a significant impact on me.” He stayed with me the whole time; he showed me a lot about who he is as a person, which meant a lot to me.”

Konanbanny appears to be a welcome addition, regardless of the outcome. He is ranked 29th among 2025 cornerbacks by 247Sports Composite.
