Breaking: Dodgers confirm the signing of another top experienced star

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been very busy on the eve of the MLB trade deadline. Earlier on Monday, the first-place Astros acquired infielder Tommy Edman and reliever Michael Kopech from the Chicago White Sox in a three-team trade that featured the St. Louis Cardinals.

Los Angeles had a clear need for infielders as the deadline approached.

They’ve now doubled down on that requirement. The Dodgers announced on Monday evening that they had acquired infielder Amed Rosario from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for pitching prospect Michael Flynn.

The Dodgers have acquired Rosario for the second straight trade deadline. They got him from the Cleveland Guardians last summer.

It adds significant depth to the Dodgers’ roster. Rosario, 28, can play second base, shortstop, third base, and the outfield. This flexibility had to appeal to front office boss Andrew Friedman and his team.

Los Angeles Dodgers continue to be active on MLB trade front

Bringing in three new players in one day appears to indicate that the Dodgers will be active ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline. We’ve heard rumors of a massive trade.
This makes sense. Los Angeles entered today’s MLB games with a 63-44 record, leading the National League West.

Despite this, the team has a gap in its rotation. It’s been a hot topic in Southern California.

In the Rosario trade, he was hitting.307 with a.748 OPS in 264 at-bats with the Rays before being traded to Los Angeles. In exchange, Tampa Bay acquired 27-year-old reliever Michael Flynn. When the trade was made, he had a 4.95 ERA in 28 outings for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
