Anthony Eyanson, a right-handed pitcher at UC San Diego, committed to LSU baseball via the transfer portal, he announced on social media Wednesday.
Eyanson was chosen to play for the United States Collegiate National Team this summer after earning a 3.07 ERA in 82 innings last season. He struck out 85 batters and walked 24.
He spent two seasons at UC San Diego. As a freshman in 2023, he posted a 4.34 ERA over 29 innings.
Perfect Game ranked Eyanson as the No. 52 right-handed pitcher in California’s Class of 2022.
Eyanson joins LSU as the 12th player from the portal and the sixth right-handed pitcher. This summer they’ve already brought in South Florida transfer Chandler Dorsey, Wofford transfer Zac Cowan, and Mount St. Mary’s Deven Sheerin, Connor Benge of Dallas Baptist, Jacob Mayers of Nicholls State, and Luke Hayden of Indiana State are all transfers.
The Tigers also have four right-handed pitchers on their incoming high school signing list.
