Just In: Auburn football lose another 4-star defensive weapon to transfer portal

Auburn defensive lineman has entered the transfer portal after spending two seasons with the Tigers.

He is a former four-star prospect from Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia, initially committed to LSU but later switched to Auburn during the interim coaching period under Cadillac Williams. He upheld his commitment after Hugh Freeze was hired as head coach and joined Auburn in the summer of 2023.

Reed redshirted during his freshman year, making an appearance in the Music City Bowl but not recording any statistics. In the 2024 season, he remained buried on the depth chart and did not log any stats, seeing limited playing time.

As a high school recruit, Reed was ranked No. 188 nationally and No. 21 among defensive linemen in the 247Sports Composite. Measuring 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, he also played in the All-American Bowl after graduating. During his recruitment, Reed took official visits to LSU, Auburn, Ohio State, Miami, and Clemson.

Reed’s transfer decision is part of a larger trend of Auburn players seeking new opportunities as the Tigers adjust to roster changes under Coach Hugh Freeze.
