Just In: Phillies Land $50 Million Star Outfielder In Blockbuster Trade

The Philadelphia Phillies have been eyeing a blockbuster trade for Chicago White Sox outfielder for months. With the White Sox in full rebuild mode, having already sent Garrett Crochet to the Boston Red Sox, Robert appears to be the next star on the move. Although the Phillies missed out on Crochet.

Here’s a proposed trade that could finally bring Robert to Philadelphia:

Philadelphia Phillies receive: OF Luis Robert Jr.
Chicago White Sox receive: OF Justin Crawford (No. 3 prospect), SS Bryan Rincon (No. 10 prospect), OF Emaarion Boyd (No. 23 prospect).

This deal allows the Phillies to add a dynamic outfielder to their roster while holding onto Alec Bohm, preserving their flexibility for 2025 or potential future trades for pitching. Robert remains a valuable asset with three years of team control, including $20 million club options for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. Despite a down year in 2024, Robert showcased elite power in 2023, hitting 38 home runs and 36 doubles.

For the White Sox, this trade adds three promising position player prospects to their system. Crawford, MLB Pipeline’s 53rd-ranked prospect for 2025, was reportedly involved in earlier trade talks for Crochet, indicating Chicago’s continued interest. Rincon, a talented shortstop, would likely become one of the top shortstop prospects in Chicago’s farm system, even after a challenging 2024 season. Boyd, while less proven, brings game-changing speed, averaging nearly one stolen base every two minor league games.

This trade would meet both teams’ needs, offering the Phillies an impact outfielder while helping the White Sox bolster their rebuild with promising young talent.
