The Buffalo Bills suffered their first loss since Week 5 on Sunday, falling 44-42 to the Los Angeles Rams. Despite Josh Allen’s heroic effort, which included three passing touchdowns and three rushing scores, the Bills fell short, failing to recover an onside kick in the closing minutes. Although Buffalo only lost by two points, they trailed by multiple possessions for nearly the entire second half after falling behind 10 points at halftime. The Bills also never led the game after conceding a score on the Rams’ first possession. Following the game, Allen chastised the team’s three units for their poor start.
“We have to come out with some urgency,” Allen remarked. “I don’t think at any phase of the game did we do that today.” Allen went on to highlight how the squad must rapidly learn from its mistakes before facing the Detroit Lions next week.
“They’re the top dog in football right now,” Allen explained. “They are playing incredibly well. We must have a nice week, learn from this one, and put it behind us. We just played against a terrific club with an extremely talented quarterback. They played with urgency.
At that time in the season, they’re playing like they should be in the playoffs right now. You witnessed it and felt it from them.” The Lions, who enter next week’s game with a league-best 12-1 record, are aiming for their franchise’s first Super Bowl, just like the Bills.
