The Kansas State football team is set to face Rutgers in the Rate Bowl later this month but will be missing nearly a dozen players. Among the latest to announce their departure via the transfer portal are Carver Willis and Tre Spivey.
Willis, a senior offensive lineman standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 291 pounds, is a significant loss. He started 10 games at right tackle this season and appeared in all 13 games last year, starting seven. Rather than continuing his career with K-State’s offensive line, he will seek opportunities elsewhere.
Spivey, a 6-foot-4, 217-pound freshman wide receiver from Chandler, Arizona, also plans to transfer. He caught 14 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown this season, showing promise with standout performances against Arizona State and Cincinnati late in the year. However, he will look to build on his success at a different program.
Additional Wildcats may enter the transfer portal, with at least nine players already confirmed as of Sunday afternoon. The full list of K-State departures includes:
- Jordan Dunbar (defensive back)
- Darrell Jones (defensive back)
- Terry Kirksey (linebacker)
- Donovan Rieman (defensive end)
- Ta’Quan Roberson (quarterback)
- Kam Sallis (linebacker)
- Tre Spivey (wide receiver)
- Carver Willis (offensive lineman)
- Justin Wolf (tight end)
